28th July 2018 Windsurfing: Llanfairfechan Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: F5-F7 Surf / Sea State: SMALL CHOP Air Temperature: 13-17 Sea Temperature: 17 Weather: cloud, rain, sun Max Speed: Distance Covered: After good time o Rhosneigr this morning I returned to Llanfairfechan to sail with Julian, John and Seb and aother turned up. Unlike forecast wind was a bit offshore then swung cross shore. After a wait for wind to settle cross shore joied the others on 4.7m. Good blasting in small chop on falling tide then torrential rain, some hail stones and one lightening strike came down Strait. Painful on the face so tried to sit some out. Rarely seen rain that heavy, and wierd to see John sailing out of being hidden in rain and sea coeved in mist to knee deep, When rain cleared sun came and lovely runs in small chop until tired. I didn' hear the thunder as rain was so heavy battering the sail. Eventful and fun sail. |
